Sea Foam Old Rope Bottle

Hand built with stoneware clay that fires to a speckled grey. Once leather hard (that perfect state between too wet and too dry) I’ve carved into the surface to resemble the coils of an old, sea worn rope. We often find lengths of this on the beach and take it home to use in the garden.

These bottles are glazed in a soft, satin sea foam green that allows the speckles of the clay to show through in some places – please note they are not glazed internally. Each bottle is unique, I never make two quite the same. Please note that because of their height, narrowness and the high firing temperature none of these bottles is perfectly straight – their slight lean left or right is intentional. This one measures 33.5cm tall.
