Sea Foam Honeycomb Reef Bottle

Hand built using a grey stoneware clay that fires with a lovely speckle. Once leather heard (the perfect stage between too wet and too dry) I’ve carved a honeycomb reef pattern on the outer surface. Honeycomb Reef is found all over my local beach and is made by a worm from tiny specks of sand and shell. 

These bottles are glazed in a soft, satin white inside and a matt-satin sea foam green outside where, in places, the speckle of the clay shows through. I’ve scraped the glaze off the rim, leaving the clay raw and burnished.  Each of these bottles is unique, I never make two the same so, whilst you’ll receive one of the bottles shown I can’t guarantee which one. Measure between 32 and 34 cm tall. Please note that because of their height, narrowness and the high firing temperature none of these bottles is perfectly straight – their slight lean left or right is intentional.
